The Opportunity

Glympse was originally introduced to Cascadeo by the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Team and requested that Cascadeo provide an assessment of their MS SQL databases hosted in AWS. The company engaged Cascadeo, an AWS Premier Consulting Partner, to determine a strategy for database cleanup and optimization and to develop a roadmap for hosting MS SQL databases in AWS.

The Partner

Cascadeo is a cloud DevOps engineering firm focused on mid-market to enterprise customers who require high levels of availability, performance, security, and scalability. The company specializes in environments that require multi-technology dependencies, hybrid cloud solutions, and connectivity; complex operational requirements; infrastructure automation; self-healing capabilities; predictive analytics; and continuous deployments.

The Solution

Cascadeo and Glympse reviewed business and technical requirements and evaluated pain-points, operational issues, and single points of failure of the existing deployment. Cascadeo also evaluated database telemetry and performance metrics in order to come up with a comprehensive strategy to improve overall stability, performance, and cost-effectiveness. Cascadeo quickly created a strategy to stabilize the system clusters to take advantage of best in class AWS cloud hosting options. This was done while honoring the Glympse’s uptime requirements to their clients. Cascadeo also created a run book to provide for ongoing cluster management, rollover, and maintenance to allow the systems to be routinely patched and restarted.

Following this engagement, Glympse has also engaged Cascadeo to provide ongoing Managed Services for their entire platform,  including:

  • Runbook/recipe development and maintenance
