Engineering and Operations Consulting

Cascadeo provides senior-level IP network engineering, scalable systems architecture and design, and open source software consulting to our clients. Projects we have handled range from engineering a five-city IP backbone from the ground up to designing the hosting infrastructure for some of Seattle’s most prominent start-ups. We offer these services on an hourly, project-based, or retained consulting basis.

In general, we find that hourly consulting is best suited to clients who require only intermittent assistance. Our hourly consulting rates range from $85 to $200 per hour, and we use a “best-person-for-the-job” approach to keep costs as low as possible for our clients.

Project-based consulting is an option for those with a short term, well-defined need. Examples of this might be the design and implementation of an IP PBX, an office relocation project, one-time high-level systems design, or a datacenter move.

Retained consulting provides you with 24x7x365 coverage, a certain amount of time or work each month, a predictable cost model, and a dedicated account management resource. Many of our clients use this in lieu of hiring in-house technical talent, and find it to be a remarkably cost-effective way to get the coverage they need without the expense of a full-time employee.

Our retained consulting agreements typically are best for those with a longer-term need. The costs for this service vary depending on the amount of work, the type of work being performed, and the flexibility of the client in terms of when work is performed.
